Most likely the new VW small sedan will appear as shown in these new computer images.
Volkswagen have relatively extensive experience with production of small sedans. Interestingly, such sedans are not very popular on European markets and the small sedan of VW Polo and the relatives Skoda Fabia and SEAT Cordoba almost disappeared. On other markets, however, they are among favorite models.
For the first time VW makes the sedan based version of the Polo at the first generation of the model. The car is called VW Derby and it is produced from 1977 to 1981. However, this was not a typical sedan because there were only two doors and the hatchback was essentially elongated and added a rear rack.
Five years later appeared Polo Classic which has four doors. Interestingly, this is actually a modification of the SEAT Cordoba, which receives the emblem of VW. The fourth generation of Polo with a sedan body is made of in Brazil in 2003 having supplied and some European markets.
Similar will be the situation in the fifth generation of the Polo. VW made a sedan again which will be dedicated primarily to markets such as Brazil, India and China. This time, however, VW seeking to place Polo sedan on the U.S. market where it will begin modeling in 2011.
World premiere of the VW Polo sedan will be the automobile show in New Delhi, India in January.
