The new version of the sedan Polo, developed for the Indian market, will be called Vento.
The information comes from the Indian version of the magazine Autocar. It says that manufacturer will increase the distance between the axes of the new Polo by 50 mm to make the sedan version and ensure enough space for heads and legs of five passengers.
So the future Vento will have one of the best indicators of space and volume in the compact sedan segment, marketed in India.
Future Vento will be available in India with petrol engine volume 1.6 liters and 105 hp power and diesel with the same volume and power. Both units will be combined with mechanical transmission by five gears while the later is possible to release DSG transmission versions.
The new Vento in India revived the name used in the 90 years in Europe (the same model in North America sold under the name Jetta). Vento mean wind of Italian and Portuguese. VW has a fondness for the winds, many of whom give their names to models of the company from Wolfsburg.
VW plans to sell about 25 000 pieces a year of the model in India after the car hit the market in July.
