VW Beetle Cabriolet spy shots

On the Internet appeared the first spy photos of new Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet. The open version of the popular small car should be available in late 2012, but today we can see how it looks, because the car was shot with almost no camouflage.

As shown in the pictures Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet will be equipped with a soft fold roof, which allegedly will be folding/unfolding in record time. It is also alleged that due to its construction of several small sections, the roof will occupy less space when folded.

VW Beetle R is coming

Will VW really reveal the Beetle R at the Frankfurt Motor Show in August? So it seems according to the Car & Driver magazine.

At this stage there is nothing official, but unknown sources mentioned to the magazine that the sports version of the Beetle will have a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with about 237 hp. If this is true, it is less than 266 hp of Golf R, but more than 197 horses in the Beetle Turbo. In addition it is expected to be front-wheel drive, to have standard sport suspension and styling modifications.

VW starts sales of the 2012 Beetle with a special series, using Porsche’s experience.

Volkswagen takes on the style of the “relative” Porsche to challenge interest in the 2012 VW Beetle. VW will soon begin to accept the first orders for the new generation Beetle.

VW decided to put on the market series called Black Turbo first, just as in Porsche 911, power is 200 hp and maximum torque – 280 Nm.

Series Black Turbo has larger brake discs, 18 inches wheel size and a new rear spoiler. This special edition aims to warm up the market and increase interest in sales of new-generation Beetle and there are financial incentives as well – early orders of the model are $495 cheaper. VW introduces online system for early orders through the website Amazon.

The special edition of Black Turbo will be available today in only 600 cars. Standard Beetle goes on sale this autumn, the price is 19,765 dollars for the basic version, naturally aspirated engine with a volume of 2.5 liters five-cylinder produceing 170 hp. In 2012 will appear and diesel version too.

Already presented the new generation VW Beetle, later this year we will see a version with no top.

Now the current version of the Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet hit the market in 2003, only five years after the onset of the cabin. The car will have a soft folding top, which will be removed and replaced automatically and quite quickly. Where will be folded behind the rear seats and will not take up much space. As a standard will be available heated rear window. Overall open Beetle will repeat the technical design and interior of the coupe.

The convertible will be offered with only two engines, both gasoline. The first will be a five-cylinder 170 hp power, the second is four-cylinder turbine power 201 hp. The engines will be combined with manual and automatic transmissions, both with 6 gears.

VW Beetle R will replace New Beetle RS

Just a day after seeing the first official images of the latest generation of the iconic Beetle model, the Germans confirmed a hot version.

We don’t know at what engine will rely sports Beetle R, but most likely that of conjugated Golf R. This means that the VW Beetle R will have an output of 265 hp, but will only target the front wheels (in Golf R drive is transmitted to all four wheels).

No information on the premiere of the hottest Beetle R, but several publications claim that the vehicle will be available in U.S. only. Predecessor of Beetle R – New Beetle RS was only available in Europe.

The Germans unveiled the latest generation of the iconic car. The new VW Beetle disposed of its name “New” and now instead of New Beetle is referred to as its predecessor from 1938 – just a VW Beetle.

The latest generation of the popular small car learned a lot in terms of design, but has managed to preserve the basic features of their predecessors. Rounded and wide wheel arches have been preserved at the new model and more upright roofline and rear column strongly resemble those of the original. It delivers more space in the cabin, especially in rear seats. The car is also 8.4 inches wider than its predecessor and 15.2 inches longer while the roof is lowered by 1.3 cm.

Range of engines include 2.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine and 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine of the group. These engines are designed for both Europe and the USA. USA version will also get a 2.5-liter engine with six cylinders – 172 hp and 240 Nm, which is placed in the new Jetta.

As optional equipment, the model includes many sporty items such as 19-inch alloy wheels and rear spoiler.

World premiere of the new VW Beetle will be held simultaneously in Shanghai Motor Show, Motor Show in New York and Berlin. Expect more news in the next few days.
