German tuning company ABT Sportsline can’t miss a new or updated model of Volkswagen, to develop a sports program for. This will happen very soon to the facelifted Tiguan but ABT has decided to introduce it in advance, while still finish it for the exhibition in Frankfurt.

The announcement of VW shows that facelifted Tiguan will be available with seven engines, three of them will be installed for the first time in the model. Although the premiere is in early March in Geneva, modernized VW Tiguan already is on the major European markets, the basic price in Germany is €24,175 and virtually unchanged compared with the previous model.

The company offers two options for the color of the new Tiguan – “White Pearl Effect” and “Island Grey Pearl Effect”. The model is equipped with 19-inch wheels, new bumpers and rear diffuser. The car was set up jointly with the Chinese partner of VW by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC).

So far this new version of the Tiguan is intended for the market in China. Compared with the version of the Tiguan sold in Europe and the U.S., the Chinese version has a new grille and new front bumper.

The interior has also changed, although not as significant. A new steering wheel with three arms, and the instrument panel has a new design.

VW has not yet specified whether these changes are specific to the Chinese version of the model or will be applied and the modernization of the models offered in other markets.
