Passat replace convertible Eos, Phaeton descends down the hierarchy.
VW Eos failed to win many fans and probably because of that the company is planing a light modernization of the model in 2011. But it will be the last. Today’s information states that in 2015 they will build a convertible edition of the VW Passat, which will replace the Eos.
According to info the new generation Passat will be available only in versions Passat CC and Convertible and modification of the typical four-door will be discontinued. In its place will be called VW Phaeton which will become a little bit more accessible.
The new Passat come with a few steps higher up in the hierarchy, receiving more luxury equipment. CC can boast some of the components of the Audi A5 – soft folding roof with heated rear window, pop up roll bar, hot air scarf and others.
The company said that new generation Passat will be a real, typical, four-model with plenty of space for children and ample rear storage + great luxury.
Among the engines of the new Passat will be present 2.0-liter petrol engine and four-cylinder supercharged, delivering 250 hp and 2.0-liter diesel with 220 hp. Both versions will be equipped with an AWD.
New Passat CC we should see in 2014 and convertible version in 2015.
